DNS Request Timed Out

Dear expert,

My BIND server answers DNS request timed out in the first time, after few minutes, I tried to nslookup again, it can resolve immediately.
I think that is the time out timer issue, right ? how can I change it ?
or another any other answer ?

If it fails again, you might try and ping it before it starts working again. How long has this been going on?
