I have clean installed a Windows 2003 server to act as My FSMO. But when I put it on the network it does not replicate with my two(2) previous DC's because the dns address they see for the new server is not correct. It brings up the previous windows 2000 machine's address with the same name's dns objectGuid Settings.

My new server has an ObjectGUID of 8c******-****-****-*******

My old server has an objectguid of 6d******-****-****-*******

Under DNS.

Can't you just delete them? I'm pretty sure I've done this before myself.. Under AD Sites and Service, and under the server name there's the NTDS Settings.. just delete the name over on the right and recreate it manually.

maybe you need to use ntdsutil to remove the old DC's. there's a howto for removing a dc that can't use dcpromo to remove the dc from the domain- it's on microsoft's website.
I had a DC crash and burn and it worked per the instructions
(for a change!)
