hi,everyone....im really confusing about using the domain that use on local only? We set up a domain in our small office.
is it okay to setup this domain as apt-domain.local and integrate it in active directory. they always say that use .com/.org/.net etc...what is the difference if i use .local ? thanks!

For Internal DNS you can use whatever you like.

.Com, .Net, & .Org, are all examples of Top Level Domain names which are used on the Internet and for which there are Internet Root Servers available to resolve them to IP addresses.

If someone has a domain name does he have to setup up the dns server using that domain name and if so how so that it also inturn looks up a dns record for that domain name on a webserver.

It isn't always recommended to use the same domainame for your internal domain and your website. But if you have already done it (Like I did :) ), then you can just add a host (A) record for the Forward Lookup Zone of you domain. Use the Ip address that you will be using for that website in the address section of the host record.
