What is the default TTL in server 2008? I believe its 1hr but I want to make sure. How do I check the Zone to see what the TTL is set to? In DNS Manager-Forward Lookup Zones and then I select the zone (Ex. A1PNET.COM) and right click-properties Stat of Authority. Is that correct?
Next I have a bunch of PCs listed in DNS all with the same IP (I can have 2 machines with 10.10.112.101 ,etc) So if I ping -a Ip_address I can get 1 machine name but I know that IP actually belongs to another PC. What is the best way to clean this up?
