I have a domain with an existing DC and DNS Server.
All works fine with DNS resolution.
I have introduced a new Windows Server 2008 DC which will act as among other things a DNS Server.
This Server belongs to another domain (this is part of a global integration) but clients will not migrate for time being.
When a client with the new DC set as DNS on his nic pings the FQDN of a remote host it gets a response. It times out when he just pings the name.
When he has the old DNS Server set on the nic it works fine.
I have added the old DNS server as a conditional forwarder.
I have also changed Group policy on one client to allow DNS Suffix appending without success.
Must I change something on the 'old' DNS Server?
Thanks
