i have a problem with my internet connection....my ISP provider have given me an static ip address to connect to the internet. my server acts as an DHCP and DNS server...in order for the server to have an internet connection, i have to change the DNS address of the server to the one provided by the ISP provider. if i did this...they are having complications and the server always shuts down. how will i fixed this problem? could someone help me with this.

What server software are you running?

There is absolutely no reason to assign your server the external IP of your ISP.

This makes no sense at all.

For Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 servers, see my notes here: faq779-4017
