For some reason dns.exe seems to be using port 1080 on my windows 2003 server. Because it is using this port, Socks cannot use the port and I receive the following error in Event Viewer:
----------------------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: SOCKS Filter
Event Category: None
Event ID: 20002
Date: 05/01/2005
Time: 1:11:54 PM
User: N/A
Computer: GSERV
Description:
SOCKS filter: failed to bind IP address 192.168.203.100:1080 for listening. Future SOCKS requests will be refused.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
-----------------------------------------------
According to the portscan software, dns.exe is using all of the following ports:
53
1076
1077
1078
1079
1080
Does anyone know why this would be happening and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance.
