What is the best solution for the following:

internal domain name: company.net
External Domain Name:

We ran into a issue when the powers that be decided to host our website outside of our own domain, how can I point our internal traffic to go when they are looking for the webpage, besides a lmhost modification, I need to do this to 300 users.
 
Your external domain name isn't That's merely an A record for your website (unless you've gone to great pains to create a subdomain called www, which wouldn't make sense).

To answer your question, find out the IP address for your website, and create an A record in your interal DNS for "www" and point it to that IP address.
