DNS or Wins

Hi guys!

once eventually sorting out the DHCP error, I know have another problem, I have the PDC Server which is NT4, My main Problem is that once the workstations have logged on, they don't always see the shared drives on the Server, I then search for the Server using its name, and the worskstations don't find it i search for the server by IP and they find it although after they find it about 15 minutes later they loose it and they have to go through the whole rigmorale! Unfortunatly my knowledge doesn't cover enough with NT4 to uderstand if this might be a DNS or Wins, but i need to solve it as quick as i can!!

Do you have WINS installed? This sounds like a WINS problem, and i would look to see if the clients are pointing to the correct WINS server. Also can you ping the clients from the server using the netbios name or do you have to ping with the ip? Are all of the clients on the same subnet or are they on different ones?
