I've developed an intranet for our LAN at work. I have obtained a static IP Address from our IT Section. The team can access the intranet using the IP Address or I can use both this and localhost from the machine itself. How do I configure the DNS so that I can use a name I choose instead of localhost or the IP Address?

Thanks in advance.

You will need to add a host record to your DNS server. Simply add the name you want to use, and the IP address of the webserver.

Thanks I'll give it a try. If I have any problems will post again.
