It´s a really big question describing how a dns works and should be configured.

The best book around, on Bind, is O´reilly. Go get it!
If you have the proper packages installed you can jumpstart by manipulating the named.conf (man named.conf) in /etc . Look up the database files (/var/named) which normally has some default values you can look at.

Come back and ask questions once you are on your way, and know your goals with your dns-server. Nostradamus
