Trying to network 4 machines here. One in London,3 in the states.
Can ping no problem from MAS and MSS.The issue is host name lookup for DNS.
Resolved on the MAS by editing the hosts text file.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this in Linux?
We got close, but couldn't perform the edit command, although we could ls the file from where we were.
Is there an easier way?
Cheers

you can add to the host file under the internet messaging on the MSS.

Also i assume that you have the other systems in your corp DNS?

Or are they not in the corp DNS

That's awesome,Ken.
LDAP passes tests,yet updates fail.
"Far end has not started update"
Yes,all connections are set yes for in and out.
We do have 2 machines release 2 and 2 release 3.
The 2 release 3 machines can talk, but the failure happens on rel 2.Although,the release 2 machines can't talk to each other either.
Any thoughts?
Upgrades,patches,etc.?
An admin screen I'm missing?
Thanks tons,Vic

So yeah,I'm a terrible liar.
I can't ping the names even though the host edit is done and the LDAP test passes.
Sorry for the runaround.
