DNS not responded a few minutes

Were are you testing from?
The server or a workstation.
Is the NetWare server your only DNS server being used on either the workstation or the server?
Load the NDS server on the NetWare box using the -V switch (ie LOAD NAMED.NLM -V) This will give you a diag screen to see the calls to DNS and what it responds with.
