Now don't laugh too hard, but yes there are still some of us stuck with dial-up,... and yes WIN98 (SE). I've had the same IP for 3 years. They've upgraded their services each year. I won't say the name of the company but the service will probably give it away. They came out with accelerator last year, speeds up web pages by using a proxy server that sends you the pages in compresed packets. Everytime I tried it with the 2004 version, I would end up, with-in a week, getting all my jpg type files as the box with the X, and most html's were messed up even in my mail box. So would uninstall the acel.(one time I had to totally install their entire service)They came out with the 2005 services and I decided to give it a try. Better, especially when they finally told me I had to set my IE connection settings to auto and Proxy for this connection along with "host Local" and port 8080.Still have one problem the same as with 2004. I set my tcp/ip DNS settings, go on line, and have to reset them before leaving my Email, or it's the dreaded X.Once I leave my Email with it set I'm fine. It stays. Any Ideas? I've typed my DNS so many times I've got it memorized.[evil]
