We have a Windows 2000 server running active directory. We have a DNS server set up. Our internal domain name is the same as our public domain name.

The problem is that we can't browse our own web page from our LAN. We can browse everything else on the Internet just fine.

Hopefully this is enough information to help.

Thanks

Gary

A an "a" record in your local DNS server for the web page.

For example, if you Internet domain name is company.com and you connect to for your web page, add a record in your local DNS.

So, go to your DNS server and launch the DNS console. You should look under Forward lookup zones. There will be a forward lookup zone for your domain name.

Now right click and ADD an "A" record called WWW. Give the correct IP address for this server.

Now try to open the web page...

In general, it is a bad idea to name your internal Windows domain the same name as your registered internet domain name. Mostly because of the issue you are experiencing...In the future, try to aviod this...
