Hi my DNS server is holding on the old ip address of the machine instead of the new ip address. How do I refresh this, I tried clear cache and reload but nothing is working.
First, we need details. How long has this been going on? Has anything changed that could have started this? Just one client or a bunch?

this is all started when I lost my main DC ( I had 2 DC), the one that took over as DC is handing out new range of IP address and the client machines are all renew to this new scope of ip address. But the DNS server is holding on to the old IP address of the client machines. So, when I tried to ping a machine by name it returned the old ip address not the new one.
I am using the other DC as my DNS server, since before the crash I had 2 DNS servers. I've flushed the DNS entries on the DNS server.
TweakMYbox,
Question for you? I rebuilt the main DC that crashed. I had a good backup using Veritas. Should I restore everything from the backup and let the 2 DCs sync again or should I run DCPromo to bring it in as a new DCs. Which way will not break my DC? I've heard that sometimes when trying to restore from backup it could break the DC??? is that true???
