I have a multi-homed Linux box that acts as a proxy. Now, I would like to be able to resolve machine names on the local Windows net.

I installed Bind-9 on the Linux box, and I have the GUI, bindconf program, but I need to know what needs to be done to get my Linux box talking to the Windows side of the network. I setup the routing, and I think that everything is Ok there, but I need to be able to resolve machine names on the Windows Network.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Rick

In the network settings of the Win boxes, you need to add the ip of the linux box to the list of dns servers.

Thanks for the reply. Got that. What I need to do is to obtain a list of machines from the windows net on the Linux box.
