I've inherited a network recently and not had any time to familiarise myself with it to any great extent.

Windows Server 2003 Standard configured as the PDC. Another server with the same OS connects via Secure Shell tunnelled through VPN and uses FTP to transfer overnight updates for one software package. No other relationship is oresent between the servers.

The main server regularly throws a hissy fit - all user connections are dropped, the network printer stops responding and the only solution is to restart the server.

DNS Errors are repeats of Warning 3000, Error 4000, Error 4004 and Error 4015

All of the obvious things have been checked, so far to no avail.

Ideas anyone ?
