Hello - I have a 2003 AD with a couple of 2008 R2 DCs. We have 11 sites, a DC at each site.

We have Not sure how or when this happened, but it appears some of the site info in DNS is missing on some domain controllers. There are replication issues, (RPC server not available) when trying to replicate to certain sites.

The DC/DNS at our main site has 5 sites listed in dns, others have all of them. I attached a screenshot. Is there a way to get the good copy of the zone from my remote DC to copy back to the main one with the missing sites? Thanks.

Thanks,

The way you are going to want to fix this is by fixing the replication issue. Can you get the Watertown DC to sync with any DC at one the five sites that the main server knows about?

There's an underlying problem here that you need to resolve, and somehow copying the data from one DC to another won't necessarily resolve it.

I'd start with the replication between the main server and those five sites. When you run "repadmin /showreps" on that main server, does it show that it is syncing successfully with all of them, or none of them?

Looking at the Directory Services logs on all the servers, are any of them in a USN rollback state? Looking at the File Replication logs, are any of them in journal wrap? Whatever the condition is that's preventing replication, it' needs to be resolved first.
