I have installed a win 2000 server and use a 801 cisco router for internet, proxy, and exchange. The problem is that every 10 minutes the router is open the internet connection.
When i remove the default gateway (192.168.1.1),the ip adress off the router the problem is solved, but this is no solution because whitout the default gateway there will be no connection at all.Is there anybody who knows the problem
and please have a solution how to fix it,i haved tried almost evrything )-:

Not sure I understand your problem. Your router is providing NAT services by the IP address you listed 192.168.1.1, so it's not directly accessible to the outside world anyway.

That being said, what exactly is the problem? Are you losing your connection every 10 minutes? Is it demand-dialing every 10 minutes?

So you are saying that the router is configured for dialling on demand?

Then it could be anything from a dns or netbios request to automatic mail checking...

You could setup a firewall on the router to filter any unwanted traffic.
