I have a W2K server configured as a PDC. Another unit is providing internet routing instead of this PDC. DNS is being handled by the PDC, but name server requests for internet adresses (such as are not being resolved to an IP address.

When I look at the "properties" of the DNS server service, I see a tab for "Forwarders", for which the description indicates that it will forward requests which are not resolved by this DNS server. This sounds like what I need, but it is not available, and stated "Forwarders are not available because this is a root server"

What can I do to solve this problem?

My LAN only has the PDC, a few workstations, and the internet router. Can I un-install the DHCP and DNS functions from the PDC ? (my internet router can handle these functions).

I am not familiar with W2K server, and I am finding it quite different from NT 4.0 server.
