I've setup a zone on my Windows 2000 Server for my domain, but I haven't been able to determine how to setup a catchall, alias, or wildcard dns record. I'd like to direct whatever.domain.com to without explicitly creating a new cname record for whatever.domain.com. Essentially I'd like any query within domain.com which doesn't have a record to default to Is there a way to so this with Microsoft's DNS Server?

I'm not sure of a way to do it if your zone in AD integrated, but if it is a standard primary (Stored in a text file) you can manually edit the Zone file with a text editor. It is located in c:\winnt\system32\dns
The line would look like this (make 192.168.0.1 whatever you want):
* A 192.168.0.1
