DNS cache on email retry

Hi All,

Does Sendmail cache the DNS of of a mail server when it retries an email?

To mean that if on the first attempt Sendmail finds ns4.mailhost it will keep retrying to ns4.mailhost, or is is possible for Sendmail to retry to a different host in the MX record during subsequent retries?
