I have a DNS server which links up to the company intranet using an ISDN line. The local server is configured as a master and the cache file conatins a line detailing the Root master server. For some reason the master server brings up the ISDN line every 2 or 3 minutes. I do not know why or what it is looking for. If I remove the listing of the Root Master from the cache file it stops bringing up the line but obviously can not resolve the higher domain names. The TTL is set to 1 day on the master SOA. If I look at the DNS cached entries the Root Master TTL is set to 1 hour, even though the TTL entry in the cache file is set to 360000. Any Ideas?
