I am running SEF 7.0 on a W2K machine in a network running all NT4.0 domains. The people here want the SEF 7.0 box to be the primary DNS box. I am pertty lost here. I am used to have 2000 domains with DNS handled by the domain controllers. In that situation I would think that the SEF box would just be configuerd to pass the DNS information. But they want the SEF to be the primary DNS box. Do any of you have any good resources for instructions on setting this up? I am unsure how all the workstations will register with DNS since there wont be any dynamic registration.

Anyone have any pointers or write ups?

AD runs better with a AD integrated DNS server running. I would recommend that you convinve them to keep DNS for your intenal network running on a DC. Point your internals DNS server to the SEF box as a forwarder for outside addresses.
