We are on NetWare 6 Groupwise 6 and our ISP hosts for us.

I am currently having now problem with reverse lookup. I always assumed (probably quite wrongly) that I did not have to configure DNS as we were not resolving and hosting ourselves.

Now I am having problems with security on GroupWise and blacklisted as I do not have reverse lookup.

Can anyone confirm I have to configure DNS? If I am not hosting the domain I am using for GroupWise, will it not be wrong to configure my server's DNS with my public main server's IP address? I thougth all the DNS info were anyway in ETC:\RESOLV.CFG.

Thanks for your help.

Eugenia

If your ISP is hosting and it is their IP address, they are responsible for the reverse lookup. This is especially true if your ISP also does your DNS.

Even a bad ISP should know how to handle that issue.
