I have a new customer, just installed MICS 6.1XC T1 with full expanded system and call pilot 150 mini. Customer has 3 asm's and wants to send digits to incoming fax machines. Not an unreasonable request. Problem is he does not have did's says he wants to use DNIS. I can't find anything on the disk about DNIS. any help will be apreciated.

Yes, but I don't understand how they hit the t1, are they pointed at the lead # then the fax's are assigned a target line with rec digits?

they are really just did's just prog trunks to auto answer and treat as would did

Wayne987:

How are the trunks on the T-1 programmed now? Do you have two way combos with DID now? I agree with luv2ski about the treating as DID but am curious how they get calls now on the ASM?? Sounds like you'll need a Trk Grp with Combos and DID to route to the ASM.

Unless I've missed something, you cannot have the Norstar send digits via touchtone to any analog device, except through the VMI. There have been several threads on that. Search for 'fax server' in this forum.

This is a new system, i'm not sure how to program the T1. As
E&M? If it was did's I would just build target lines. With no did's I guess it will just be DTI with line pool A.

Regarding the T-1: You will need to call the provider and ask what type of setup / framing they are giving the customer/

Framing - ESF or SF
Coding -B8ZS or AMI
Then the type of trunk- loop, ground, or E&M
Other factors like are they going to provide dial tone, and supervison should be noted also

O.K... If I set up the incoming digits as target lines, such as line 100 rec # 1234 and add it to asm #1 sta 1 it should answer? Right??

yes if you set it up as a recvd digit it will answer...i think the only issue is showing it on out going...will not work..or better yet hire someone who knows what there doing

ONLY 21 WEEKS TILL SKI SEASON STARTS

Thanks for the input. I have hired a couple of tech's to assist me on this project, it's just that no one has worked with DNIS before. Thanks again for your help with this problem, I really do appreciate it.
