Any way to make a 4400 digital set to no ring on intcom, customer wants no ring on some single line digital sets, only for the voice mail lamp to turn on if message left in mailbox. Thanks.

try this:

Dial Feature 0 0 or on 44xx sets dial #00

touch each intercom button then dial *35 to turn the ringer off on each button.

let me know how this works for you?

Ken is right on turning off the ringer, however it will affect your voicemail coverage. If doing normal transfers to the station, or if auto attendant transfers to a station, calls will not cover to the mailbox. I ended up having to set the phone intercoms to delayed ring *36, set group cover to 1 ring to get as close to what the customer wanted. The phone will still get 1/2 to 1 ring before it covers.

The sets in question are 4400D single line sets, no buttons to set DND, or intercom buttons for the *35 to work, as of now we have 1 ring that follows the call coverage path as wspence talks about. The customer would like this group of sets NEVER to ring. Still willing to try anything. Thanks for the help everyone.

If all you are looking for is message waiting lamps for phantom mailboxes, try this. Renumber a calling group as you please. Sysrenumber-->grpcalling-->enter old number(hint: start with 7929 and work backwards)-->enter new number. Ok, once you do that, assign the calling group vm coverage. Extensions-->more-->grp calling-->overflow-->enter the calling group that you renumbered-->enter your vm calling group as overflow. Ok, then assign the message waiting ind to go off anytime someone leaves a message in the mailbox for the calling group. Extensions-->more-->grp calling-->message-->assign the 44xx phone with MWI in here.
There you go, anytime you call the calling group, it will go straight into vm and light the MWI on the phone without it ever ringing. Hope this helps.

In programming, doesn't the station still have an intercom button, even thought it physically doesn't? Analog stations do. You might be able to delete all the SA button and replace it with a -SA-Originate Only.

Hope this helps...

kristiandg is right, go into Central Program, either delete the sa buttons with saOO, or turn the ringing on as stated in the earlier posts.

The Legend Magix will not let you delete the last sys button, has to be there.
