Is there any way to make a lamp on the 4424 phones light up when users activate do not disturb?
 
Make one of their buttons be DoNotDisturbOn. Have them use that button to toggle DND on and off - you don't need a DoNotDisturbOff button, don't have them dial shortcodes to control it.

I mean is there a way to make it light up on other users phones so people know that the person stepped away from their desk, or is busy and cannot be disturbed.
 
This could be done easily with Phone Manager at the PC's of the other people.
 
Yes, and you could also create User buttons for several people to indicate their status. For example, on Bob's phone create

User "John"
User "Mike"
User "Extn207"


etc.
 
I have created many users on their 4424's, but the light doesn't do anything when DND is engaged.
 
This feature went away in 1.4 and hasn't been back since. We really need it here, too. Apparently there was too much messaging going on w/ IP phones. Well, I think it should be an option because I don't have IP phones so I don't really care.

Unfortunately, thats what I've heard as to why it went away.

That is really unfortunate. We have only one IP phone user so, not an issue here either.
 
I've been in contact w/ one of the designers of the IPO last week. We gave them a list of features that were required to have in order for us to commit to purchasing a bunch of these systems. I've got another conf call on Monday. The DND Light was one of our requirements and they seem to feel that it wouldn't be that hard to do again, now that the platform is stable.

Oh, BIG changes in LED behavior for Release 3. Think Definity. YEAH!!!!!
 
Go Kris! You totally Rock, man! Think you can get them to create a cascading outcall feature? Ie. message left in mailbox it pages tech on call, message not retrieved within x minutes pages backup tech, message still not retrieved within x minutes pages supervisor, etc.

Tell them they can forget the whole deal if you don't get that [bigcheeks]

Hopefully FORWARDING a voicemail to a group is in 3.0 too.
 
if you mean having a group mailbox that will take a msg for all me mbers of the group (instead of just the 1st to listen to it) then yes this is in V3.0 although it may well be audix mode only
 
Kflounders I believe you are thinking of the feature that IPGuru just mentioned. I have reviewed the R3 feature list and pretty sure cascading outcalling is not on there :(
 
Distribution mailboxes (what I call this new mode of operation on the group mailbox for ease of understanding) should alow outbound alerts for each user, so at least now we can alert to more than 1 destination.

My current option to get around this problem is to have the IPO call out to my mobile & send an email to my mobile/sms gateway (thaughtfully provided by my mobile provider).
I get a call from the VM which shows as a missed call if I dont answer & also a txt msg telling me I have a voice MSG.
 
A definate improvement over 1 destination only, to be sure. But I'll still be losing sales over the lack of a proper cascading outcall feature :(
 
Just making some action in this thread again !

We have tested v 1.3, and find that the DND-status on the DS-keys doesn't work here either...

Can anyone confirm that DND-status has worked before?
 
Perhaps it was 1.2 that it existed. I was told 1.3 was the last release, but I do know it used to exist. Unfortunately, it just used to light up, not flash or anything that would show DND versus busy or ringing.
