Hi All,

I am having an issue on a customer site where calls to a number in DND state aren't doing what they want.

when the number is in DND and dialled internally, it shows out of service. when the number is dialled externally, it follows the call routing and goes to voicemail.

They have another system in the cluster that works correctly, internal and external calls to a number in DND goes to voicemail.

I am just wondering what setting I would be looking at to fix this. I have checked the call rerouting form and COS and it all seems to be the same.

Working system - MXE III - 8.0 SP1
Faulty system CX II - 8.0 SP1

Any and all help appreciated.

Cheers,

check the call rerouting forms , there are sttings down there that are able to change DND action based on call type

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Like the documentations says. DND works only internal like you want.

Do Not Disturb
Description

Do Not Disturb (DND) stops internal calls from ringing a user's telephone and returns busy tone to the caller. DND does not stop external calls from ringing nor does it affect the user's ability to make calls.

Like Billz66 says, the rerouting can be configured to follow DND routing or not.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

if its acting differently for internal and external its most likely a 1st alternative setting

Call Rerouting First Alternatives
Purpose
The Call Rerouting First Alternatives form is used to specify the routing information for the first alternative rerouting. The routing information is defined based on:
the condition at the called number that caused rerouting (busy/do not disturb, or no answer) and
the device from which the call originated (DID trunk, tie trunk, CO trunk, or internal call).

Busy/DND DID
Set the call routing when the called DID number is busy or has set Do Not Disturb. Select "Normal" to allow the system to route the call to busy or reorder tone, "This" to route the call to the directory number entered in the last column, or "Last" if the call is to be routed to the corresponding entry in the Call Rerouting Second Alternatives form.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....
