I'm walking around DNA 5, and I found that while I can download all PBX's directory data into Extension Manager, I cannot figure out how I would transfer that to Directory Manager.

All I see in DMG are options to add subscribers, departments etc, but I thought this should have been transferred from the PBX for an initial load...

dmarquez34,

its all done by the magic of.....
"manual input"

sorry !

oh can't believe it...! :)

Anyway... it seems that at least you can use dirpop to import a file with the extensions and names, is that so?

if that is true, i might get that file from the pbx, and
again if i am not wrong i should make the changes to the extensions IN DMG, and everything should stay in sync via
transactions...

Right?

Well, you still have to manual process the transactions.... :)

I agree shame on Ericsson

I see and I agree with you, Seems something very easy to implement really on the Ericsson side...

Well I did not get to the Transactions part, so I guess I will start doing the import and then see what happens, surely posting back here for help or understanding at least as in this case :)

The first time I came across this on DNA, I was quite surprised. However if you think about it.DMG holds its information in an SQL database. So why you can't initially do this sounds correct.

Of course you can DIRPOP, backup etc. But it relies that the original system has had the information manually loaded.

What are you trying to 'transfer' from EMG to DMG? There's not much they have in common... After all, they are designed for very different tasks. However, there are ways to transfer 'NIINI-names' to DMG and vice versa.
