1)are confidential fields exempt from LDAP search criteria? Can they be added?

2)When setting up the LDAP server settings there are fields for user and password. Are these only for write access? I put a name and password in to test and was still able to do a search in LDAP.

Is there a way to require a user name and password for search requests?
