DNA 5 and Win2k SP4

Hello,

Just a word of caution. Our IT monkeys...(sorry I mean department) have just installed SP4 for Win2k on my DNA server. It's F**ked it up!!

All DNA apps on the server run fine.

On the clients, OWS runs fine. DMG and EMG do not work. DMG returns with "Failed to connect to database" and EMG returns with a similar error (sorry can't remember exact words).

Any helpful hints are welcome. I have tried re-installing windows service pack, but that made no difference.

My next attempted solution is to re-install DNA over the top to restore any corrupt or missing files.

Hi chris...

I was an official beta tester for win2ksp4 and there is suttle changes to the MDAC components, that could be your problem

It seems that re-applying DNA installation and servicepacks has solved the problem.

Hello,
I have had the same problem after installing SP4 on Win2000Server with DNA Server. After re-installing DNA Server EMG and DMG work OK.

Ericsson have now released hotfix 802 for DNA 5. This fixes the problem with W2K sp4. The problem was that sp4 cut of the named pipes from the clients to the server.
