Following that link to the info about DMVC disks, this is what IBM says (in red letters, no less):
Q. I want to upgrade code to the latest level on SSA DMVC type drives. What is the level I should install?
A. There is no need to upgrade drive code for DMVC drives. If you encounter a specific problem, please contact your IBM Service representative for guidance on how to resolve this particular problem.
Q. I am experiencing SRN31000 on some SSA DMVC type drives. Is this an error and what should I do?
A. If you have a SRN31000 posted by the AIX Error Log Analysis routine, then Yes, a problem exists that requires service. Please contact your IBM Service representative who will obtain guidance on how to resolve this particular SRN.
Thanks for the swift replies. I appreciate it! I've seen those links before and I agree with bi, not much help. I'm leaning to just not worry about the microcode level as indicated on the FAQ page. I'm just hoping that somebody could confirm that.
