Morning gang,
Need a little insight. I checked the previous threads but couldn't really tell if the info would be pertinent to my situation.

Site has an MICS 0X32 with 5.0 S/W. We have two T-1's, all 48 channels are two-ways. We have a 6-Port Combo card and a T-1 Services Card.

The issue: We are getting "63" alarms which are not enough DTMF receivers allocated.

Is there a difference between the available cards that I can change to increase the DTMF receivers?

Any recommendations?

I think there was another post on this just recently. The poster had similar to your config but had put an E&M card into a trunk module to try and enhance the numbers of DTMF recievers and generators.
A reboot was suggested to fix the problem. Never heard back from the poster.
Try a reboot.
Let us know.

Cheers

WIth a T1 Services card AND a 6 port combo you should have 48 DTMF receivers which should be all you would ever need for that configuartion.

Are you sure that the 6 port is a COMBO card?
NTBB06 or NTBB25?

Thanks for the input so far. Yeah, it is definitely a combo card. We are going to try the re-boot and see what happens. I will let everyone know what happens. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks again,

If you have 2 T1's in the system it is recomended that you have another expansion card. This is supposed to add additional resources

If adding a second 6 port combo card, is it required that the MICS is running XC software?

Good Luck!

DueE,
Yes. You will need XC for two 6Port Combo cards.

Make sure you go into the Hardware side of the KSU unit and diable the 2nd T1 Card, So that you can then go into the Maintenance side in front of Hardware Programing and then change the T1 Card to the desired type of T1 service you want the card to be in Line 25-48 programming. After you determine this Reenable the T1 card in the 2nd T1 slot and and then shoud work and recognize 2nd T1 card. I would think that you would only need one Combo card to run two T1 cards. Once you have this set up correct, you could tried a reboot if that doesn't sink up and accomplish what is needed. How Many People on this system?

Will ask one other.

A 6 port expansion/services cartridge only has 5 DTMF receivers. I do not know for sure if a sevices cartridge has only 5 DTMF receivers or more but I suspect it is only 5. If you install two combo cards then there are 10 DTMF receivers and if there is a high volume of inboumd traffic then there may not be a receiver available at times. That is why it is recommended to have two combo cards if there are two T1 cards.

I do not know if adding E&M cards in a TM would add to this number but each E&M card has 2 DTMF receivers, so most you could get is 6 per TM. The E&M card provides 2 receivers each, for analog cards but I have never read anything that would indicate that they could add to the DTMF receivers of the combo card.

It may be worth a try.

If you are using the T1's for telemarketing and receive a large amount of calls at one time you will continue to have the problem.
I had a 0x32 with 2 T1's 36 channels for outgoing and incoming, LD and 800 service. Anytime the customer placed a add on TV with there 800 numbers, they would receive more calls than the switch could process.
Not only did they get alarms, but at times the switch would choke, then restart.Had to replace the T1's with ISDN PRI
