When runnig a report on Oracle 9i in Impromptu 7.1 I get this error has anyone else come across this and been able to fix it?

We had some problems with Series 7 against Oracle, but we found someone was using ODBC connections to Oracle instead of the native connections.

Pain is stress leaving the body.

Yes, you have to check your impfunct.ini, cer3.ini, cognos.ini, and impromptu.ini files for any different needs for the decode for oracle that it needs. We have had a couple of different changes with these. See knowledgebase. There is sometimes an extra line regarding the decode under the [Query Options] that has to be added to use oracle decode correctly. We were able to remove ours, maybe this is it:
Use automatic Oracle Decode=0
