Want to confirm DMI on a route only affects outbound calls? I have a PRI between two switches (my Nortel and a Seimens). I strip digits and send only 5 to them and that works great. I am having trouble allowing them to send me 9+7 to make local calls out my switch. Seems I'm just getting the last 4 digits and Meridian is trying to find users on switch. Any ideas? Thanks

It sounds like the DMI on their end is stripping instead of inserting digits. I have one of our sites setup to dial out of a central location and I have it inserting the 9 when I send the calls across.

So, if they dial 9-555-1212 it sends the whole thing across instead of stripping the 9 like it would normally. You could have it insert the 7 so when they dial 9-555-1212 it would send 7-555-1212 to your PBX.

Far end is telling me he is inserting a 9 and then sending all 7 digits. My extension on the local switch is 7505 and if far end dials 9 xxx-7505 they end up at my phone.

Turn on d-channel messaging on that PRI and watch what is coming across to you. If all you see is the 4 digit extension, then that is all the Siemens switch is sending.

The DCH messaging is a must.... at least see whats coming in....

Look at your RDB as well for the Nortel / Siemens link..... look for an IDC conversion.

Here is what I see coming my way, all 7 digits plus the 9 are there.

I have a couple otion 11's that call out using TIE back to me and all is good. This one has me puzzled

problem is probably that loop 120 is part of a DID route and not a Tie line route.

That is where I think I am with this. Need to change the trunks and route to TIE. Problem is far end needs to stay PRI and NI-2 and I can't provide that, it would have to go to Q-Sig. I think. If anyone knows a way around that let me know please. Thanks
