money makes the world go round...and buys bullets for the police on the streets of Genoa :-( Its a messed up world and its all our own fault for letting it go that way.

the dcma is bad. they try to jump on everything with it slahdot reports on it alot some one got sued for haveing a pic of barney that kinda stuff.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

so now those guys from antisecurity.org sound like they were right - do not publish any info you got on any flaw :-( ... do NOT inform people when they take risks ... safe world indeed !!
@liam : i'm not sure whether it's OUR own fault ... even if we join and protest, even if we are numerous, sounds like it's way too late to react :-( ... (and it makes me feel less guilty !) please check FAQ183-874 :)

its our own fault because it was through our own actions that we let the world bank and the imf walk all over us. they set out to help out rebuild europe after the war and they have never left. every country is endebted to them and its not i ntheir interest to let us pay off debts and go free. its all about power :-(

power ... and money :(
about the dmca and those laws, i've been reading a very good article - unfortunatly, in french, that's why i'm not posting it here - stating that in a few years from now, because of those very restrictive (and commercialy aimed) laws, the internet will be split in 2 parts : the "commercial" one = www, and the "free" one = old gopher, bbs, telnet .... that'll come back, as they're hard to monitor technologies !!
(makes me think that in a few days i'm leaving in vacations ... in a country where the internet is almost illegal - and very very censored .... that'll feel weird ...) please check FAQ183-874 :)

this goes a long with my thinking I say move the meeting till this changes if its met for US companys lets go to CanCun or somewhere away from the DMCA If places like LA and LosVegas lose the convetions it will hurt a lot more, let hit them in the pocket book. So long and thanks for all the fish.

you're absolutly right - what frightens me is that more and more countries (especially here in europe) are adopting tough laws against research/disclosure of information - so where will we hide ?? in the non- ;) [back to the nice !adresses and the great days of ftp, telnet, muds ...] ------
please review FAQ183-874 - this will help you to get the best out of tt

I understand there have to be limits and regulations, but at what cost? I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment of it.

so, now when i purchase a(n) (e)book, i can't even give it away if i think its a complete load of bollox?
Not even to a charity?
I'm stuck with a book on my machine that i din't even want???

Am i alone thinking this has gone too far?

and it's even worst, as the (e)book doesn't belong to anybody (not always, but as soon as the writer died more than 50 years ago) - but still, you're not free to use it !!! nonsense !!
it reminds me of another good article, this one in english, (an old one i can't remember where i've read it) and it was in a close future, some student wanted to work ... but he couldn't read any book, use any machine, as they were all law-protected and he forgot his key or whatever - his friends wouldn't help him as they could be sued for that ... too bad i can't find this article back ... ------

the DMCA is the first step look at the sssca that is just getting started copyright control at the hardware level forced on us by law and the software and music get to set the standard gunthnp
Have you ever woken up and realized you where not alive.

Again the question, "How far is too far?" I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment of it.
