I apologise if this is a silly question, but here goes...
My PC has a gigabyte 6VXC7-4X m/board which has IDE DMA33/ ATA66 ports (although I believe that these are UDMA?), can I use an ATA100 drive with this board or do I have to stick with the same interface?

You can use an UDMA100 drive but it will only transfer at the UDMA33 rate. Sometimes you have to use the diagnostic from the maker's site to set the UDMA. Or maybe a disk came with the drive?

Or you could get an ATA controller add-on card fairly cheaply. CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk
