Has anyone used DLTSage xTalk for hardware device monitoring/reporting/troubleshooting?

More specifically, on a Backup Exec 9.0 server, running Windows 2000 Server, connected to an ADIC Scalar 1000 tape library with SDLT320 drives?

I have used it to diagnose a faulty drive. It was pretty simple to use: load a test tape and launch the wizard. I found out later that the firmware rev of the drive didn't support xTalk, but it was replaced under warranty.

I've also used it to upgrade firmware, although this is not recommended for end-users by Quantum.

What type of issue are you having?

I'd just like a better way to troubleshoot hard/soft errors.

When Backup Exec encounters errors, they're recorded in both the drive and media statistics. This makes it more difficult to pinpoint the real source of the problem.
