You will need to track down the existing device file associated with the device via ioscan, then read the man pages carefully for mt, stape, and mksf. If you are lucky, you will find the appropriate density flags documented therein, and create a new device driver specifically for DLT7000. Create the new device file and place it in the /dev/rmt directory with the proper ownership and protection, and a unique, different name from any files which may already exist. Utilize the new file in your tar, dd, or fbackup command, and you should have the tape you wish in dlt7000 format.
