DLT1 and DLT8

Hi, I am in the process of choosing a new autoloader to replace an old and failing one.... The autoloader we currently use is still available in a newer updated version, but has a DLT8 drive, where we currently have DLT1. Will our DLT1 tapes be usable in a DLT8 drive?

I know this isn't necessarily the correct forum, but as the tek-tips search engine is down at the moment, I hope you don't mind me asking this here!
