Hi,

I have a p690 with 5 partitions. 3 partitions with AIX 5.2 and 2 with 5.1. My HMC is version 3.2 I want to move a scsi adapter between two partitions with AIX 5.2, but the option Dynamic Logical Partitioning is disable. Do I need to do some special in order to activate this option? Is there checklist to verify if my system is configured properly. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hi ogniemi,

Thanks for your answer. The problem is the option Dynamic Logical Partitioning in my HMC is disabled.

Hi blasvinas,

check that you can ping your HMC from the LPAR you want to change.
We had the same Problem once and we found that ist has something to do with network reachability of the HMC.

You need to define the ip address of all your partions in the HMC and The same in the partions you need to put the ip add of the hmc in /etc/hosts.

Hi everyone,

Thanks everyone for your help. axelsche and jie your were right. The problem was the HCM is not in our DNS, so partitions cannot resolve the HMC name. Following the jie advice we added the HMC on each /etc/hosts file for every partition. Now is working fine. Thanks.
