Hi,

I;m having problems performing a dlpar operation on one of our VIO servers to move the media bay to another partition. I've traced the media draw back to pci0, and have performed an rmdev -dl pci0 -R, but still can't perform the operation. IS there anything else to rmdev?

Do you have correctly configured network connectivity from the HMC to the LPARs in question?

HTH,

If I remember properly, you cannot dynamically move a resource from A to B, when it is marked as "required" on node A. You have to change the state to desired first.

The HMC is connected to the regatta via a switched network. It doesn't have a "live" network connection, as the partitions are on a isolated network to the HMC. Thanks p5.
