Hi all,

Just getting started with v10.1d. I have two servers on different subnets and are in communication. I have installed the DLO on both, and have set up a user on subnet A. Subnet A has the Central Admin option.

Subnet B's media server has a problem though. When I go to the DLO console, I first get a message "Workgroups are not supported in this release. A domain is required". The server (Windows 2000 Adv Server SP4) is a member of the domain (only one domain for the company). I'm logged on as a member of the domain. I searched for info on this error and found some stuff, but none mentions anything relevent to my setup or situation. So I'm ignoring this error for the moment.

When I try to add a User, I get stuck. If I browse, the browse never finishes (waited an entire weekend). If I type in a user (OurDomain\Bob), it thinks for a few seconds and then fails with "Unable to validate user. Please check user name is valid". It is valid, I've tried others.

I have been able to add users just fine on the media server on subnet A.

We don't have Active Directory anywhere, still using an NT4 domain. The PDC is on subnet A (with a BDC), and subnet B has two BDCs.

Any help anyone?

I think this is solved. Turned out to be an OS issue with it not being able to find the PDC.
