dll's and security

Hello all.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here it goes... I created a dll in VB which is called from ASP. It works great when I run it under http://localhost/aaaa/default.asp. However, when I don't use the localhost and try to use the URL address, the browser freezes. (i.e.
Make sense? I'm sure it's a security thing, but I don't know how to solve it. I'm running Windows XP Professinal.

Any ideas how to stop the freeze-ups?

Question. Is the DLL running on the server or the client. If it is running on the client then you need to create an ActiveX DLL and download it in the ASP page.
 
The dll is running on the server. I put it in the virtual directory.
 
Since you are running it on the server, it doesn't have to be in any web directory. Just register the DLL using regsvr32 and you should be able to access the objects.
