Hi,

Can someone explain me how .olb .tlb and .dll files are relationated? Does not any dll have an object library and a type library inside it? So, why to have separated files?

Thank you

Hi,

Dll will contain actual code for anything u have. Object library will contain the information about where exactly the code is located. That means if there are more than one dll linked, obj lib will contain info abt in which dll perticular code will be found.

But I'm not sure about what exactly the type libs are. But I'm sure that they are not inside dll.

Hope this will help you.

Regards.

Actually, all COM DLLS have the Type Library hard coded inside. The Type Library has all of the information about the various interfaces, methods, and attributes exposed by the COM objects. - Jeff Marler B-)
