DLL not loaded

Both access 97 and 2000 are responding 'can't find ref. lib' error message for 'dim dbs as datatbase' and right, left, mid functions have similar problem. I'm as sure as I can be the problem is in the *.dll or other lib. but don't know how to proceed. Am running 2000 and 97 on different computers so no problem there, and recently reformated the hard drive of on, reloaded the ms applications and still have problem. I'm sure others having same situation.

I have had similar problems with right, left, and mid functions. When you install Office, do you do a custom installation and remove anything in particular? Try a complete install of 97 or 2000, see if that makes a difference for starters (Go to Custom installation, and hit 'Select All', then install from there). Let me know if that makes a difference, I'm curious...good luck.
