.dll failed

Hello,
all the time the server was running fine.now all of a sudden i am getting this message when i try to open the notepad,or outlook express or other applications .......
what could be the reason ?


initialization of the dynamic link library d:\winnt\system32\user32.dll failed the process is termination abnormally

User32.dll is a critical system file. The error message can be due to numerous reasons. In my view the root cause is the presence of conflicting versions of user32.dll and the gdi32.dll files in the system32 directory of WinNT.

How it got started? Are you having a BSOD? Which service pack are you using? If you can give some more background info, may be I can offer something useful.
