I am trying to use Crystal 5.0 with Access97 databases I have created (I've done this at home - it just won't work at my office...I suspect I have a setup issue?!).

I get these error messages when I try to open any Access database:
"Config Error: The Library "pdbbtrv.dll" cannot be opened. check it's configuration"

The I get another error box that says Crystal can't recognize my Access file as a known database type.

Any thoughts? Did we miss installing something when it was set up? Thanks!

pdbbtrv.dll is a dll used for btrieve records - the cryptic title refers to Physical DataBase BTRieVe.dll. Sounds like Crystal thinks that your Access file is a btrieve file, and is not having any luck when it treats it as a btrieve file. I'd be tempted to start with uninstalling and reinstalling Crystal Reports, and setting up a new DSN's if you are using ODBC. Also, you might want to consider upgrading to a more stable version of Crystal reports - versions 5 and 6 are not good examples of fine coding. Version 7 is OK - haven't received my V8 yet.
Malcolm Wynden
wynden@island.dot.net
